A long work week

Friday, December 10, 2010

As a teacher, I know long hours come with the territory. I am use to late nights of grading math papers, quizzes and tests. I also run concessions stands and I am the cheer coach. This week we had 3 games plus a family reading night. I did the math and I have worked 72 hours since Monday. I am very tired. As I reflect on the week I did a great job drinking my water this week. I only had 2 12 oz diet pepsis this week. As for eatting, my lunch and breakfast I stayed with my usually healthy choices. As for the game nights, well I realize that I need to start packing my own. I know we use all beef hotdogs, but that nacho cheese, pizza probably is not the best choice. The hot dogs have way too much sodium in them any way. I did a great job with the candy. I split some M&M's with one of the student workers.

I have noticed tho that my blood sugar has not been very stable and as of right now I am very exhausted. My walks this week have only been 20 minutes daily instead of my usual 40 minutes. I imagine running back and forth taking orders at the concession stand can account for a little bit of exercise. I have my cheerleaders jog for 10 minutes before practice and I usually do a fast pace walk with them. Hey I believe in "if I ask them to do something I better be prepared to do it with them"
