Kinect, Day 10, with more embarrassing pictures

Thursday, December 09, 2010

Well, I've had the Xbox Kinect for 10 days now and I've worked out for 9 of them. I only missed one day because I was writing (on the last day of a deadline).

I still can't believe that I've been moving this much. I hate sweating, and normally stop any activity that makes me sweat, but at one point in a particularly sweaty game (I think it was the Dance Central demo) I paused the game, went into the bathroom, doused my entire head in cold water, put my wet hair in a ponytail, and returned to the game. It is so addicting!

Here are some of the latest embarrassing pictures that Kinect Adventures snaps...based on the pictures, I must have been playing the roller coaster type game (I can't remember the names). This game is particularly grueling if you're as big as I am because it has you crouching under some obstacles while in the next second you have to leap over another you're squatting, leaping, dodging from side to side, sqautting, get the picture.

I am going to rent games before I'd like to try them out before I buy them, and some, like Kinectimals, I'd like to see but probably will never buy as I don't have kids.

I'm really blown away by the technology in these games.

Another cool thing...I was given a month of free Netflix, so I've been watching movies in the evening while working on home made Christmas gifts. It's a lot of fun.

I'm having a hard time eating all of my calories, so I'd better stop now and go eat some breakfast.

Thanks for reading!

I know what you mean about not wanting to stop. For me, Dance Central is the hardest. No matter how tired I am, I always seem to say "just one more song" over and over. Glad you're having so much fun!

    Hi Mrs. Mike,
It's a lot of fun.
Have you ever read the book, "Mrs. Mike", by Benedict and Nancy Mars Freedman?
It was one of my favorite books when I was a teenager ( a million years ago, lol).
Take care,

Hi Skinny! Are you having fun with yours? I'm going to have to get some less active games so I can rotate the super active ones every other day instead of every day.
My cousin is a personal trainer (but she lives Vegas whereas I'm in Canada). She said it's best to work out 3 times a week when first starting out, then go up to 5 times a week, and then, if working out every day, to make sure to alternate and do cardio one day and weight training the next.
In theory, I thought the Your Shape would be less active, which is why I got it, but those routines really kick my butt!

Krystle, I'm so happy for you! Let me know how you like the Biggest Loser and Zumba. I haven't tried either yet. I was at the Walmart yesterday and the one in my town is already out of most of the Kinect games...they only had the car racing game left. I meant to go to the video store but my car battery died from the cold weather, so my Dad took me shopping while my battery was charging, and I didn't want to drag him to one more store, lol. I'm going to go today.

Today I have to do a ton of housework...bleah!

Have fun with your Kinects, ladies!

    Hi Tema,
I was; it is so much fun. I was really looking forward to playing today too, but got too busy. I just got home and I'm so tired. Maybe I'll get a second wind later on.

Johnniegirl, I really hope Santa brings you's a lot of fun, and so much more than a game. You can watch movies, listen to the radio, go on facebook or free demos...I still haven't discovered all there is to do.

I have to say, it was the best 200 dollars I've spent in a long time.
