Today is Pearl Harbour day and I stop and remember all the men and women who died during WWII and all wars fighting for our freedom. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate what you and yours families have sacrificed so we could raise our children in a free country.
This morning I got dress had breakfast, WW Smoothie = 4 points and left for a presentation that was part of a series for women that I signed up to attend. Today Joan Weintraub formally a critic for the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinal and now copy editor for Readers Digest was the leader in a discussion about Jewish women comedians. Before she led the discussion we saw the documentary film "Making Trouble, Three generations of Funny Jewish Women". It began with Molly Picon, Fanny Brice, Sophie Tucker, Joan Rivers, Gilda Radner and finally Tony award winner and playwright Wendy Wasserstein. It was a wonderful film and the discussion was fantastic. I wish more women had taken the time to come to see and hear the presentation.
After the session was over I went to Bayshore and bought myself a reward for being at goal and staying there for one year. I bought a sterling silver bangle bracelet with 7 charms and I added my 10 month WW key and my WW star for reaching my goal. It was quite expensive but better reward myself with jewellery rather than food.
For lunch I had a Dr. Atkins nutician bar =4 points. It not the best healthy choice but it was lunch and better than stopping at a fast food joint, or not eating at all.
I went to meet the girls at Boarders for a game of Scrabble and had a large coffee 0 points
I came home and made dinner. I had whole wheat spaghetti with garden fresh tomato sauce topped with 3 oz of shredded mozzarella cheese for a total of 10 points. I made my husband his pasta (not whole wheat) and made him two pieces of Texas toast.
I went to a board meeting tonite and brought veggie straws for a snack/treat/nosh. Judy brought a can of carmel/cheese/buttered popcorn which I did not touch. I drank my water during the meeting and ate 2 servings of veggie straws for a total of 7 points.
Today my total intake was 25 points. I will probably not eat any more tonite.
I did get on my scale today and lost 2 pounds. I didn't think it would happen, but if you track, measure your portions, drink your water, it does work. Duh!!!!
