I don't feel like working out - but I know I need to in order to reach my goals. It's too hot in here... but I have air-conditioning so the temperature is not an excuse. Ok - that's true for my home workout... what about my daily walk? I can wait 'til sunset when it will surely be cooler. Damn, I have no excuse!!
Plus, I'm eating out tonight so I need to burn calories today!
That's it - putting on my workout outfit and start breaking a sweat...!
Alright... what was gonna be a 40-minute workout ended up lasting 5 extra minutes! I was on a roll! Maybe I should call it a day and skip my walk. But... wait! My walking buddy (i.e. my mom) needs to lower her cholesterol level and walking will surely be of help... so, on second thought, I would be doing it for me and for HER!! Yeah Healthy Me, you have just convinced me! I'll go to my mom's and tell her to get ready!
We are not walking TOO fast BUT we are walking way FASTER!!!! We are both motivated and happy with our progress!
Bottom-line: If I had listened to "Lazy Me" now I would be feeling upset and mad at myself for having let the day pass by without working out. Yet I CHOSE to listen to "Healthy Me", who quickly and easily destroyed the lame excuses Lazy Me was trying to resort to.
Bonus: Tonight I'll be able to enjoy one or two small slices of pizza guilt-free!!
