Silly mistake...

Boy did I make some silly mistakes yesterday.
To start it off I woke up and tried to focus on the alarm clock without my glasses.
I thought it said 5:05 so got up, turned on the coffee and got on the computer. about 30minutes later my DH got up & went to the bathroom. On his way back he looked at me and said he was going back to bed. Well I looked at the clock and was shocked to discover it was only 2am. WHAT!!!! Boy did I look at the clock wrong. So I turned off the computer and the coffee and crawled back in bed. Took me an hour to go back to sleep.(thank God I didn't have a cup of coffee yet) Anyway I woke back up at 5:20 and couldn't go back to sleep.
After getting the family up & going we got off to Dothan for a day of Christmas shopping. I had a great time and got a lot of walking in. DD's pedometer read over 11,000 steps and I went in more stores than she did so know I did more.
(no matter what I try I can't get pedometers to work on me)
We went to Wendy's for Lunch. I was good and ate 1/2 a Chicken Salad (without cheese) and half a baked potato. My DD ate the other half. Sharing is a great way to cut calories.
We didn't get home until after 3pm.
Then it hit me... I was so tired, my ankles were swollen, my joints were aching, and the bone spur on my rt. heel was killing me.
I wanted to exercise but every time I tried to stand up to do any my heal started hurting again. So only did a little arm & leg stretches while seated. Boy did I pay the price for not checking the clock better and being on my feet so long.

I slept a little better last night, heel is still hurting so will try to stay off of it this morning. (have to take MIL to store this afternoon). I have an appointment with the Dr. on Tuesday and will talk to him about the pain.

I hate not being able to exercise like I want to. I won't lie it gets discouraging.

    I walked alot the other day and I my right heel/ankle area started hurting really bad and I was almost limping it hurt so bad! That was 5 days ago-it better not be bone spurs! I hope I just bruised mine too. Pedometers are very touchy. You have to keep checking them once in awhile-they can get caught up in your clothing or in my case sometimes bend down into the fat fold around my waist-LOL! You got to listen for that clicking sound it makes each time you take a step-if you don't hear it-check it is not hooked on something! Good for you getting in the extra exercise!

    Spurs are the worst! I hope it stops hurting soon. You probably bruised it - stay off of it to let it heal quicker. I agree with the others - 11,000 is a great workout!

Maybe Santa will bring you an alarm clock with "big numbers!

    you made plenty of steps, and it sounds like a good day. I hope you don't have to pay too long for it.
Try putting your pedometer in a different part of your body. I wear mine on my shoe. It counts well there and I have several crochet covers for it so It doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. though several people asked me if I was on house arrest!

    11000+ steps is plenty of exercize for the day! I'm glad you were able to get some stretching in!

    That was quite a day you had, I hope today turns out better. It does seem we should be able to include shopping in our exercise doesn't it. I am so much tireder when I get home from shopping than I am after taking a walk!

    I did that before but not that early. But in my situation I did start working out on the treadmill. I also watch TV while I am on the treadmill and the program that I usually watch wasn't on a different program was on. I was like what is going on...then I checked the time on the TV....I was up a hour earlier then I usually am. I guess its not as bad as you but aleast you caught it and you could go back to bed.

You are doing an outstanding job... emoticon
