Rocky rest in peace, we will miss you!

Sunday, November 28, 2010

My beautiful puppy past away early Thanksgiving morning. It was a sad sad day at the Jones house. We had 3 beautiful dogs and late Wednesday night Pepper was barking like crazy. Jim ran out to see what was wrong. Rocky was having seizures and when he did walk he was losing his balance, running in circles and fell in the pool. Jim was able to get he out quickly. We didn't know what was wrong. I found the number to an Animal emergency center and we put Rocky in the van and raced there. I tried to keep him calm, the look of fear in his eyes made me cry. He was foaming at the mouth and had another seizure on the way. Once we got him in the center they took him straight back and gave him a sedative to clam him down. he was running a fever of 104 and we had to make a hard decision. We said good bye and waiting for them to bring him to us so we could take him home. That was 1:30 am, with my family coming over for Thanksgiving we got home and sleep until 5;30 am to put the turkey on and Jim went out to bury him next to his momma in the back yard. I know this seems like such a sad story but I had to get it out. Rocky's two play mates are missing him as well as I am. Now I have to go on without him and will remember all the joy he brought into our lives. We resued him and our other two dogs and raised them from pups. Just getting this off my chest nd letting the tears flow has made me feel much better.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Pets can be just like family members and the loss can be just as heartbreaking.

I love the smile on his face in the photo. Rocky was one lucky pup to have such a loving pack to raise him!

I am so sorry that you lost your beloved Rocky.
I can empathize with your pain. We too lost our Kitzy cat on Thanksgiving Day too, she was 17 years old. (We got her from the Humane Society for our daughter when our daughter was 4 and recovering from cancer surgery. We are fortunate to live on a farm and have many wonderful pets.) Pets hold very special places in our hearts. Your Rocky will not be forgotten. I am so sorry for your lost.
