Love this weekend!

Saturday, November 27, 2010

It's been a good weekend so far. I got though Thanksgiving Day without really overeating. I had a small helping of everything, but I was much better than I've been in the past. I have the indoor Christmas decorations up, a reasonably clean house, and I've even had time to watch a couple of movies, some football and some soccer games. I did miss my exercise yesterday, but have done my walk/jog today.

I'm nervous 16 yr is taking the car to work for the first time. Yikes, its scary to let her drive by herself in traffic. It will dark on her way home too! I know you have to let them do it sometime and I know God will watch out for her, but I still can't help being worried! Every time I think about not letting her drive, I try to remind myself that this means I don't have to take her to work and pick her up. I can actually do something else with my time! I'm trying to focus on the positive...but, nope, not working for me...I'm still nervously waiting for her text that she got there. LOL.

Worrying is a mom's job! I'm sure your mom worried about the first time you drove, as did her mom, and so on! I'm going to make an assumption that your daughter is a very responsible young lady (she has a job!). With that said, remember that. She is probably just as nervous as you, but would never admit it to you (or anyone else, for that matter). I know, I know, it's not her driving you're worried about! But, she is probably a much safer driver than someone who has been on the road a long time (meaning driving wise, not a long day).

Will keep you and her in my prayers for a smooth and safe transition.
