Turkey Day Weight Loss

Somehow I managed to get a weight loss between Wednesday and today. Did I eat a lot yesterday? Yes! So, how did I do it? Well, for starters, I kept up with my usual morning routine of working out. I do this at home, via the Xbox, and makes for no excuses. The second strategy was hosting Thanksgiving. With people coming over, it puts you in overdrive to clean. Part of this involved running around the house and seeing everywhere my kids put up their secret drawings. A smiley face on the shelf, a scribble on the baseboard, and some yogurt on the back of a couch cousin. This all means heavy scrubbing, which is great at starting off the sweat. The third strategy was running around, literally. I made one trip to the grocery store and bought whole bean cranberry sauce. No, this wasn’t right. My wife wanted actually cranberries to make her own sauce. Back to the store I go. By then, the parking lot was full and walking was too slow for me. So, I ran. Back and forth.
So turkey came and went. I stuck with about 1 plate with a little extra on the green stuff…oh and stuffing. Me and stuffing are at one with each other. I did feel full and nappy, but I had another plan. My daughter really wanted to watch a movie with grandma, so I waited. When dinner was over, THEN I started the movie. Usually grandma insists on doing the dishes. Usually a nice thing, but not for my plan. I had my daughter guilt trip her into watching the movie and then the dishes were mine…all mine. This was great; pots, pans, casserole dishes with things baked on, dishes, cups, etc. By the time I was done, the movie was almost over and my abs were sore.
Then, after that, I started up the Kinect. Nothing like a little harmless fun, lol. Not sure if I got more of a workout from the game or from laughing at grandpa and grandma doing some hulu hoop and boxing, which somehow turned into hula dancing. When they left, I got the kids in bed and did another 20 minute cardio exercise and 4 minute cardio boxing routine with Your Shape Fitness. The cardio boxing got me ready for some midnight Black Friday action, lol
So, it was a fun day. Back to work today and going to have to come up with activity for tonight with the kids.
