What to Do When Snowed In

Thursday, November 25, 2010

First, get DH to bring in firewood in case we lose power.

Then let him handle the shovel for a while.

Be sure to let the critters help!!

Move the snow around a bit.

Continue to build.

A shape begins to emerge

Add a bit of dressing

A few Final touches.......

And the Snow Queen is ready for the Snow Ball.

What a beautiful scene for the holidays! I hope you had time to enjoy the turkey dinner and all the fixins. We are cold but sunny in the southwest. How lucky we are to have wonderful husbands to help and a warm fireplace to snooze by. Your snowqueen is ready for the royal wedding but I doubt if she will last until April.

How cute! However I don't envy you the snow because I'm in southern New Mexico where we think it's cold today because the temp is 45 degrees LOL! Looks like you are all set for any emergencies due to the snow!

Oh, how adorable! LOVE LOVE LOVE Snow Queen! She is ready for the ball!!!

Um, not liking the snow so much tho! I live in NE Ohio, where we are prone to lake effect snow! Anything can happen, when moisture crosses the lake!

emoticon looking to move down south soon! SW Florida, to be exact!

    Have a festive Friday!!!

Love your 'snow queen' and seeing Winston and your hubby! I did not get out and get my snowman made yesterday; I got home and immediately got into another one of my 'while we're at it' projects: making new placemats and napkins for Thanksgiving. Yeah, I do crazy things like that--deciding I don't like what I have and making something new the day before (or the day of) a special event. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, although our daughter called this morning to say she was sick so now we're not celebrating Thanksgiving until tomorrow.

I think I might be able to scrape together enough snow today before it all melts to make a small one, though; I'm going to go do that right now!

EDIT: Mission accomplished; one small snowman complete!

Your "snowed-in" adventure sounds great! Mine is a little different, no hubby to tote the fire wood in, or to "man" the snow shovel, so the only time I ventured outside today was to tote the wood myself and even then, I hurried to get the job done. Any "snow queen" or even snow ball will have to wait for another day when the temp isn't minus 15 degrees. However, I am finding strong feelings of comfort and peace mixed in with the unusual awareness of welcome isolation. - and even though I didn't venture out to even build a modest snowman (in minus 15 degrees, I felt a little intimidated), I am enjoying being snowed-in. Hope you are, too.

That's lovely - LOL, I like the way your hubby has to lug all that firewood around. We never get snow (maybe once every 20 - 25 years, but nothing like this!)
