Happy Thanksgiving!

I was on SP and noticed that my last blog was in April! So much has happened since then. I don't want to go into too much detail so I'm going to sum up the last 7 months in a few lines.

Was doing really well with eating and exercise and got down to 205 by June (From 242). Was feeling amazing, did a sprint triathlon and was up to running 4-5 miles steady. Clothes were getting to big and things were going great until...I inured my lower back and things went downhill. It's been 4-5 months since my injury and I'm still not 100%. I'm now at 219 and wishing I was back losing not gaining. I'm feeling motivated again but school has been kicking my trash recently and I've struggled with consistency. Wish me luck.

But on a more positive note, it is Thanksgiving today! True that I am Canadian, and our Thanksgiving was last month, but since we are living in KY currently today is the big day. I'm sometimes tempted to whine and complain about thing but really, I have so much to be thankful for. Here are a few of them (In no particular order)

1.

I am grateful for Nutella. This stuff is amazing, and a contributing factor to why I am the way I am.
2.

I'm not a fan of the show (I'm more of a Seinfeld guy) but I am grateful for wonderful friends.
3.

Although this is only a temporary home for us until I graduate, I love this place and the people who live here.
4.

The wonderful families my wife and I came from.
5.

I am grateful for the example of Jesus Christ.
6.

Although my wife wishes I looked more like this guy, I'm grateful to have a fully functional body, even if its not in its ideal form....yet.
7.

I'm grateful for my trusty bike which I've had since I was 15, that gets me and my books to school and back rain or shine. (In case you were wondering, this isn't me.)
8.

I am grateful for all things Puerto Rican. I lived there for two yrs as a missionary and love that place.
9.

Im grateful for these wonderful countries.
10.

I am so grateful for these two. They are the greatest joys in my life.

    Blogging is a good start. So is gratitude and you've got that covered! Keep biking and watching what you eat. Those pounds will come back off. Remember that exercise is proven to help with stress. Eating too much of the wrong things is proven to make you fat.

    Sorry to hear about your injury. Yep, these setbacks happen, but then again I truly believe they are here to have us learn about ourselves and how best to listen to our spirit and what it wants. What did you learn about your training or what your spirit wanted? Did you push too hard? I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on this.

My training is coming on a lot better now. I also haven't blogged for awhile. I was holding steady and am now developing a lifestyle that is more active so the weight is shifting again. I love that. At the end of the day, it is truly about moving your body and that is the easy way to look at things.

Sending a big hug out to you and your family. I know you will come back- not bigger and better- but lighter and better!
