The Turkey Trot

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Last year my sister and I ran the 10k in our local Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving. This year my sister and I wanted to do the 10K Turkey Trot again.
My daughter and my mother were inspired last year to sign up the 5k this year. So my sister and I were like, "no problem, we will walk the 5k with you and then run the 10k".... then we are going to even walk back to her place which is a few mile away from the event. Hmmm.... I added it up about a month ago, I realized it was like the distance of a half marathon I have planned for Thanksgiving morning. Then I still have to do some cooking. It's do-able, and I think it will be fun... but I have to remember not to wear heels to dinner like last year.
This is us last year....

That's so awesome that you motivated two more people to do it! Last week, I was wishing that I had gotten in shape enough to run our local TT, but this morning I'm glad I'm not signed up -- it's 10 degrees and the start time is in an hour! ;P I'll be running my 2 miles at the gym in a little while. GOOD LUCK with your half-marathon Trot! emoticon

Enjoy your run this morning! I am signed-up for my first Turkey Trot and I also have the family coming over for dinner. I am staying positive - it will all work out. Now...if it would only stop raining :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
