Part of me is as excited as can be about Thanksgiving...good food, lots of family time (especially with my new niece!), and some R&R. The other part of me is dreading all of these things and the overindulgence that may potentially follow. I have a few goals to try and keep me on track though.
My first is sleep...I know how I get when I am overtired, and it is so easy to do during the holidays. I have to stick with my bedtime and relaxation techniques and keep on track with 7 to 8 hours a night.
My second is moderation...I got through last Thanksgiving pretty good. I was food journaling and listening to my body for the first time in a very long time. I ate what I wanted, but rather than several platefuls, I had a spoon or two of my favorites, kept protein and fiber in me, and drank my water. My strategy this year will be the same.
My third is exercise. Somehow I must make time to exercise. The 10 minute spark videos will definitely come in handy for quick cardio workouts. I'll have my Jillian Michaels DVDs too for the laptop...No More Trouble Zones for my strength training and Yoga Meltdown for relaxation.
I know if I can keep everything in perspective I'll have a great Thanksgiving. After all, I have so much to be thankful for! WIshing everyone a wonderful holiday!
