I'm still here!

Monday, November 22, 2010

I can't believe it's been like 2 weeks since I posted here- I don't know where the time goes! Well, yes I guess I really do. School. Ugh. These classes are the WORST! But I digress...

Weight Watchers training is going well. 2 more classes and I'll be an official Weight Watchers employee :) I really really like it, but it looks like I'll only be getting from 6 - 12 hours per week. And that is NOT going to pay my bills! I don't know what to do about a 2nd job because I need at least 4-6 hours study time daily. Looks like I'll be going back to waitressing on the weekends, at least until next semester.

I haven't been running as much as I'd like, but I am getting in at least 2 runs per week. I'm on week 9 day 2 of the B210k program. I'm running 10k in right around 1 hour, and that includes a 5-minute warm-up walk. I usually run right through the cool-down and then stretch when I get back home. There is a Curves right next door to my WW so I'm thinking about joining there. Any opinions?

Food-wise I haven't been doing the greatest. I have been craving all sorts of bad stuff! And since I haven't been on the computer much, I haven't been logging like I usually do. With that said, I am up 3 pounds since last week. Actually though, this is a good thing. At my last WW meeting they measured me and I don't know if I grew, or if I'm just taller because my posture is better, but instead of the 5'2 1/2 that I've been for the last 30 years (!!!) I am now 5'4. And being 114-115 at 5'4 is "underweight!" So now in order to stay employed with WW, I can't weigh in at less than 117!

Ok I guess that's enough ranting for now. I really just wanted to let you all know that I am still here, and I miss you all!

Hi! Just read this blog...I think it's awesome that you are a WW leader! I am a lifetime member...earned back in 1997 (before Points!). :) I'd be curious to know your thoughts on the new PointsPlus program. I haven't been to a meeting in ages. I think I got burnt out and had some struggles with Points and, from what I've read, it seems like the new system addresses some of the stuff I didn't love about the old one.

Anyway...I'm babbling. Hope all is going well! :)

Stephanie

Oh an update! Nevermind your page question.

wow.. you are up to a 10K in an hour? I am impressed!!! I got set back and am on week 2 of Freeway to 10K and doing 3.7 in 45 min.

Curves... I belong. I joined because I needed a push for strength training and this gives it plus cardio. My Curves has the smart plan and I recommend it. Join when the fee's are really reduced. I joined for $75 but there are other times when they have specials and you can join for a $10 donation during Oct or bag of food in November.. .see what they have. otherwise the $145 joining fee I don't see is worth it at all.

Is yours a 24 hour? Mine is not and the hours really bite. This morning I didn't want to run as it was supposed to be too cold but I couldn't even work out a curves today cause they didn't open til 8. they close at 11 on Saturday, so usually I never get there on Sat as I opt to make money in the morning doing something else! They are no open on Sunday either.... grrr.

I'm surprised I'm still a member LOL but I pay $34 a month and usually get in 2-3 times a week.

Woah, if you figure out how you gained an inch and a half, please share! I love being petite, I just would like to be over 5'2!

Great to hear from you! How great is it that you are taller!!! I always wanted to be about two inches taller...who knows maybe it can happen! This is such a busy time for so many of us...I just picked up a second job and am struggling to keep up with my workouts.
Study hard and good luck with all your adventures!

YAY! Good for you! A new job is so exciting. And growing two inches is pretty much a miracle, so there's something to celebrate for sure! Now you're as tall as me! :) Guess now I can't use that as an excuse for why I weight more. Sigh. ;-)

Hang in there with the classes, etc. Everything will settle down once you've adjusted to your new routine in your new home.

Very exciting changes happening for you! Congrats!!!

GREAT to hear from you! And I'm with Judy - get remeasured on that height. Could be a mistake.

And CONGRATS on maintaining your running! I am certain that helps with the desire for cruddy food.

Maybe I need to be remeasured. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Good for you! I loved being a leader, altho I'm not sure I'd go back to that now -- now I might prefer being a receptionist. But at this rate, I'll be 60 before it happens.

Anyway.

I've never actually done Curves, but somehow I can't see it being challenging enough for you.

And I sure wish I could run 10k in 1 hr . . . you are fast!

Yay!!! Only 2 more classes and you'll be official! I guess waitressing on the weekends wouldn't be the worst thing. At least you'll have time for school work during the week. Those classes sound killer. Hopefully next semester will be a little mellower.
At least you're getting runs in at all. I've never been to Curves, but I've heard good things about it from people on this site. At least it'll get you some strength training.
Wow! I wish I'd just grow 1 1/2"...then I'd make to 5'. Well, you'd better maintain that 117.
I miss you, too! But I know you're busy.
Have a great holiday!!
