OMG OMG OMG....Is it REALLY Healed???

Monday, November 22, 2010

Yesterday I walked 10.5+ miles, and even ran 3 times for about a block each time...walking was super fast, except up those pesky hills...running was super slow. I expected my typical achy pain above my ankle where the stress fracture is....Was???

I figured I'd be limping slightly this morning...NOPE!!!! No limp, no ache, no burning, no discomfort. Well, lets not discuss my shoulders which I realized around mile 8 that I was holding them super tight, started rolling them out but by then it was too late.

Okay...here's the deal. I could be stupid and go out tomorrow and run some more, like a half mile to a mile, and end up back in pain guarenteed. OR, I can play it smart, wait until thursday's 5K Turkey Trot, and do exactly as planned...walk the whole thing then RUN through the finish line only...

Well, I think I'll be smart, and do my running AFTER I get home from Vegas, just to be absolutely SURE I stay able to do anything at all.

Healing is a WONDERFUL feeling! Take care of yourself & your body often will take care of itself.

Since you are headed for the half marathon, just 14 days away, walking more than running seems a good "prescription" between now & then.

Enjoy your turkey trot!
