Getting kinda blah

Saturday, November 20, 2010

I was on such a roll and now I have hit a wall. With my new job I get home later and that means dinner comes later. Wouldn't normally be a problem but I go to the gym after dinner and now by the time I get done I don't want to go. I haven't let me stop me mostly but I let it happen more than it should. I am not a morning person so the AM workouts just aren't in the cards.
So basically I am not giving up I just have to find a new way to make everything work out in a different way. Just feeling down on myself a little and wanted to get it out. I am still proud that I haven't quit all together just mad that I am not on the same pace.
Have a great weekend Spark Friends!!

I agree with the other ones that is hard to do everything you need to do but if you don't take care of you first you won't be able to look after others.
Are your kids still young enough to lift. When mine were small I used to lay on my back and lift them from my stomach and straighten my arms up. I also used to sit them on my lower legs and do situps. It was a fun time for us and I still got in a workout. There are probably a lot of other things you can do with them too.
Some nights maybe you could have supper in the slow cooker and your hubby could feed the kids.
There is a website called 5dollardinners where you could find some ideas for menus for the whole week. you could also check out the Spark recipes.
I hope some of these ideas help. Don't give up, you have come too far to quit now. emoticon

Another thought! Have you considered exercising in your home? Personally, I prefer to exercise at home in my study or in the family room. I do not like the idea of having to leave my home to exercise except when it comes to walking.

It's truly difficult to readjust to a new job, new schedule, etc. When my girls were young and in daycare and school, I used to take my lunch hour to exercise in. Thank goodness they had showers at the university!!! It was all rush but what else could I do? After work, my husband and I would head on home with the girls and it was either him or me preparing dinner and spend time with the girls. Occasionally, we used to get a babysitter just so we could go to the gym at the university. It's not always easy but there must be a way! Don't give up on yourself hon'! emoticon emoticon

It can be hard adjusting to a new schedule! Good for you for trying to keep your committment to going to the gym...is the gym far from your home? That would be a problem for me. The gym I go to is about 20 miles from my house but it's halfway between home and work so I stop on the way to work. If I had to go home from work and then back to the gym, I would never go! Is stopping at the gym on the way home from work an option for you? Even if you don't have as long to work out, it might be something to try.
