I'm being harassed by my co-workers to try Zumba. I've finally given in to their pleas, but what the heck am I getting myself into?

I can't dance to save my life. It's extreme enough that my husband and I had a no-dance reception at our wedding in 2004. He's less coordinated than I am! I can at least roller skate, ice skate, etc...he can handle riding a bike. emoticon

The girls tell me that one session of Zumba (45 minutes or so?) burns about 400 calories--which is twice what I burn now on the treadmill in 30 minutes. So I like the sound of that. BUT I CAN'T DANCE. And I have a bona fide fear of failure.

I'll try anything once (or 3 times, in this case), but I'm REALLY nervous. emoticon So...are there any non-coordinated people like me that Zumba--and LOVE IT?!?! emoticon

Hey...my dad used to call me a "bull in a china shop"...tried to teach me to dance once...got frustrated and told me "you have a board in your back!"....but i love to "dance"... mostly it is making very uncoordinated movements that must look hilarious to my hub...

don't care...makes me happy! and i gotta' say....

this life...way too short... gotta' do what makes you happy.... emoticon

Hey Trixie82. I love, love, love Zumba and you will too. It's not so much about dancing as just exercising. There are so many in my class that no one really watches so if you don't get the steps just right it doesn't matter...it's the fun and exercise + calorie burn..Go for it.

I have been watching the advertisements and think it would be "SO MUCH" fun. When you try it please let me know how it goes! I hate to make an investment that collects dust.
