YES! SUNSHINE! Life in 1940 on 'FUNNY FARM'

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Woohoo! Up early the sun is shining and my W/O is D O N E!!! Good feeling!

(*I admit I did read email while I drank my coffee but didn't turn on the TV! My shame was in admitting I turned on the computer, not in what I read, btw, Dave! ;) I'm hardcore like that..haha)

If there is anyone out there who has never seen the movie FUNNY FARM with CHevy CHase and Madolyn Smith, it is hilarious and that is basically where we live. Or maybe it is just hilarious to me b/c our move almost completely mirrors their's to an lovely country area with a certain type of life in mind, and find something completely, utterly and often, disturbingly, different.
Thanks for vlogging Happy one it reminded me MY back was going to hurt if I didn't keep moving. Jess, feel better!!

My sister teaches yoga in the mountains in NC. She has to make it more "religious" or people won't do it. Small towns and rural areas can be so.....close-minded, shall we say? I lived in a small town before moving to the big city 22 years ago. I actually grew up in a nice sized small city/big town, whatever, and moved to a small town for my first job....and it was a bit of a surprise to me. The mall closed at 6pm! Well, it wasn't a big mall...just a major store and some smaller ones with an indoor walking around area...but it amazed me. That and the prejudice of the small towns....and I could go on.

Good for you for keeping hunting off your property. I wouldn't want it on mine, if I had more than this suburban yard of mine, hemmed in as we are by houses all around us....Sometimes I'd like to be out in the sticks, away from everyone!
