Week 2 Post-Analysis

Friday, November 12, 2010

I think I'm finally coming to terms with Toulouse's last days and our final decision for him.

However, his mate and companion for his whole life (they were born in different litters but the same house) keeps crying to the empty rooms; we think Boshki is looking for him. They were never apart as long as they have been now. But we're giving her a lot of extra attention. I just worry about how she'll do when we're away for a week for Thanksgiving and a week for the winter holidays...together Toulouse and Boshki did NOT do well being without us, even with pet sitters. It's going to be harder on her not having him there too.

My friend (I'll call her R here) was diagnosed recently with breast cancer as well. She's only 27. We're going to her fundraiser tonight. She and her husband are confident that she'll pull through (they caught it rather early) but are concerned about the recovery time and the medical expenses. Doing the best we can by them to keep them both company and upbeat.

Still concerned about money and affording art school, but I don't think that concern will go away any time soon. Dad thinks he'll have answers from the bank that's running the education fund in the next couple of days. I'm working on my portfolio in the meantime, trying to make more realistic art for it.

Aside from all that, I'm feeling a boost to my self-esteem after completing the first day of the third week of the Couch to 5 km program. That means going from all 90 second intervals of jogging to two 3 minute intervals. This was a big step for me, a BIG push to run double the time, and I'm proud that I made it!

I also lost 2.4 pounds this week, and without a lot of radical changes to my diet! Just portion control, watching the balance of fats to carbs and protein, and trying to keep the overall calorie number down every day. I still eat a lot of things I like, I just keep it under control and exercise.

Feeling fatigued, but a good fatigue, after running today. Going to relax now before we head off to the fundraiser...

Week 2 Stats:
Weight: 174.4 pounds
Energy: 3
Stress: 2
Sleep: 3
Self-Esteem: 5
