I've been trying my hardest to follow Sparkpeople's nutrition plan that it sets for me everyday. In other words, I'm trying to work myself out of the restricted number of calories I used to eat when I wasn't working out consistently. So, with that being said, let me tell you about my dinner last night.
I was told to eat (I did make substitutions based on things I will eat)
2 chicken breast halves
10 spears of asparagus
2 pats of butter
.6 cup mashed potato
.75 cup berries
1 serving greek yogurt
1 cup tea
I also hadn't had my cottage cheese from lunch or my snack of black beans and corn with spices, so I prepared that too.
I made it through all of that except the chicken. I ate most of 1 piece and gave the end to the dog. I also substituted A1 for butter. I still can't bring myself to put butter on food... or salt.
I woke up with a 2 pound weight gain. I can't imagine why... lol. That just seemed so dinner heavy. I have never eaten 2 chicken breasts in one sitting. Not even when I was at my heaviest.
I have to cover a shift at the ambulance station tonight, so I have breakfast, lunch and dinner all measured out and packed in my lunchbox. Tonight's dinner seems way more reasonable portion size and calorie wise than last night. I just need to remember to eat my snacks and meals evenly throughout the day so I'm not at the end of the day and having a ton of calories to swallow.
Oh, an aside... all of that food yesterday and my fat and carbs were under goal and my calories were only 11 calories over minimum. Whew.
