1st test of the holiday season: snack day at work. everyone brought what they wanted and ofcourse it was junk! i brought shrimp cocktail.
before i went i had yogurt, fruit, and water so i wasnt starving but had an appetite. when i walked in i immediately looked at the buffet of food to see what was the healthiest. i'm a sugar addict and there were 3 desserts: chocolate cake, key lime cake, and strawberry short cake!!!
salsa/cheese dip (about 2-4 tbls) with tortilla chips
grapes, two pieces of cheese (size of dice)
broccoli with a sauce like ranch (maybe 1 tblspn)
shrimp coctail (my favorite and i ate enough lol)
1 bite of a chicken wing (didnt want it)
about 2 tblspn of pasta salad
finally 1 forkful of key lime cake (after i finished the 1st foods so i dont over eat my favorites--sweets)
WATER for beverage of choice--they had straight soda and juice. I dont care for soda but I love juice.. skipped right pass it!!
I must say that I'm really proud of myself. Not only did i pass up my favorite (sweets), but I didn't binge eat like normally and feel miserable after...
My advice is to go to all the lil in between holiday parties you can to get some practice for the main days (thanksgiving, christmas, new years)so you can see what types of foods are offered and get some practice for eyeballing serving sizes..it's worth it!
Zumba class tonight to work off what i ate.....
