YOGA...yoga..yoga... :)

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

emoticon I went to Yoga class tonight.

emoticon I used to feel like this trying to do Yoga. I was too heavy and couldn't even see myself doing a lot of the poses. It was intimidating and frustrating and something I avoided like the plague.

emoticon I don't know if I'll ever be able to do this.

emoticon But this is one of my fav poses now.

Mostly I enjoy how I feel after the class. It makes me feel stronger and more centered. I'm getting more flexible as the months go by and I wonder where I'll be in a year if I keep going to my weekly class. I may never be able to touch my head to the floor in that one pose she does, or lay my chest down on my knees but I will be leaner, stronger, and more toned for doing it.

This is one of the reasons why I am worth it and keep going in my healthy lifestyle. I enjoy more and more taking care of myself and the way that I feel 87lbs lighter. I like how I look alot more. I enjoy shopping for clothes and trying things on.

It is important to make the time I need to in order to be successful in my healthy lifestyle journey. I matter and improving my health matters. There will always be a bazillion things that need to get done and if I put everyone of them in front of me, in the end I'll just be unhappy and unhealthy.

What do you need to take off your to do list so that you can make time to workout?

I have always wanted to try yoga, but the instructor at the ymca where I went was, I guess the word is intimidating. She was this tall, skinny (nearly looked unhealthy skinny) and they didn't really have a beginner class. I would love to try it, as everyone says it is a huge stress reliever.

Next year, I would love to be down 87 pounds! Good for you!1 We ARE worth it!!

You'd be surprised the poses you can get into several months down the road. It's like, every once in a while, something clicks, and I can get into a more advanced version of a pose, and it's one of the most satisfying feelings in the world! Glad you've discovered the wonders of yoga, too! :-)

While I've never been able to sign up for a yoga class, I have done mat pilates classes about 3 semesters. I think there are similar exercises.
I used to think the pilates was for wimps, au contrare!

Glad you are making your class a priority! Also a big congrats on your 87lb loss!!!

I'm so happy for you. Yoga is amazing! Wheel and Cobra are actually two of my favorite poses!
