Over the years, one bit of wisdom gained is that it is not the big things that mean the most, it is the little things that over time add up to big things. It is that small thing like a phone call to a sick friend that might lift their spirits, a pot of soup when they are not feeling good, a card to cheer someone who is in a bad spot, a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen. We may not be able to change the world, but for a short moment in time, we each can make a difference in someone's life.
You be that person for someone and see if it doesn't make you feel better. I know all the little things I do make me feel better. Yesterday it was bake a cake and share it-8 people benefitted from that one little apple cake and today I am hearing the thanks. One couple always saves me their coupons, another lady has a husband with alzheimer's and doesn't have lots of time to cook, another helps with my father, and the last couple babysit our baby whenever needed. They share their lives with us and hopefully that little cake lets them know they are appreciated for what they do for me or for others.
May you find joy in doing good for others as to me that is what living is all about. Not having the most toys or possessions, but by sharing our love and whatever we have and are able to share with others, be it food, time, or just a smile, that is what truly makes a life worth living.
