Salt can just be so bad when it comes to bloating and weight loss

Monday, November 08, 2010

So, having to be on a gluten free diet I am reading labels like crazy. I found these lime rice chips that were delicious and ate them yesterday. But will not do that again. They were salty which I love but try and stay away from salt. This morning up 1.5 pounds(still not a big deal for me) but I know it's the bloating and the salt which I normally do not have.
So to all my sparks buddies out there....stay away from salt!
Hope all my sparks buddies are doing well today.
Sallie

Once you start reading labels it's pretty horrific to find out what is in our "food"
I try to avoid anything that has a label and to stick with one ingredient foods.
DH has high blood pressure and we eat fairly low sodium.

We use very little salt at our house. We use other spices and herbs and never miss the salt. I often find other peoples food really oo salty for my taste, but do not say anything. It is that my system is accustom to just the natural salt in foods

Too much Sodium can really cause havoc in our diets.
The first thing I check when tracking my food choices is the sodium count if it's too high I won't eat it.
It's amazing how much better I feel since being aware.
I agree stay away from sodium. emoticon

I'm glad you realize that water retention isn't really 'weight gain' - it does show on the scale but it's so temporary, I find it difficult to take it seriously.

Who makes the lime rice chips? They sound good!

Salt is not bad, just too much salt is bad.
