Best birthday yet

Monday, November 08, 2010

Ok turning 40 sucks... a LOT... BUUUUT my lil SN (special needs) son made is just wonderful. DH bought a small cake that was cut in to 4 sections so each of us could have the kind we liked. DH got the German chocolate cake, I got the piece with the chocolate cake and chocolate frosting and SN son got the white cake with white frosting. When DH brought the cake out my dearest lil SN son said:
Happy Birthday Mommy!

I was so overwhelmed with love and happiness I just about cried. SN son just doesn't say things like that unless you repeatedly ask him to, but this time with out anyone saying anything beyond "It's mommy's birthday" he said that to me. He looked at me and said "Happy Birthday Mommy" and my heart sang with joy. Then DH started singing the happy birthday song and SN son joined in without either of us asking him to THEN he helped me blow out the candles THEN he ate his piece of cake WITH A FORK. We had to cut the pieces up for him but he nicely used a fork!

Turning 40 years old sucks but my SN son made it my best birthday yet.

So glad you had a wonderful birthday.....and your son was incredible. shouldn't say 40 sucks, because you have many more to come and trust me they just keep getting better.
I'm 63 and enjoying every day that I can. Besides, dear friend it's only a number not who we are.....kind of like the numbers on the scale.........those numbers are not who we are just ONE way of measuring could look at your years as ONE way of measuring how successful the year was...........even though everything is not rosy all of the still should have a list of things to be thankful for from this past year..... emoticon emoticon

emoticon Your blog made me cry. I can only imagine the joy you felt when your son said that to you but I know that your heart was filled with joy when it happened. How awesome!

Now - make this year the best year of your life and then when you turn 41, it will be no big deal!
