Splurge Day! And I'm OK!

Saturday, November 06, 2010

Yesterday I TOTALLY splurged. I took the kids out to lunch after their first dentist appointment (which went swimmingly)--we went to our favorite ice cream parlor. I had 1/2 a grilled crab salad sandwich and some onion rings, and a small sundae, and some root beer. Then late last night, my husband and I busted out the Halloween pumpkins and mowed through a bunch of candy while we watched a movie. Did I mention that I skipped my workout?

Here's the thing though: I feel fine about it! I'm not trippin. I realize that this is only one day and that, the vast majority of the time, I'm working out regularly and eating well. I thoroughly enjoyed my splurge day, and today I did a make-up workout with extra time on the treadmill.

I'm inspired by Coach Nancy's (SP_COACH_NANCY) motto on her sparkpage:
"Perfection and guilt have no place in living a healthy lifestyle."

That is so true! It's OK to "blow it" once in a while. In fact, blowing it isn't even blowing it. Rather, it's more accurate to say that it's healthy to enjoy yourself and "live it up" occasionally, GUILT FREE. What a revelation!

WOW that is so true, you have to have a splurge day now and then. As long as you made it up for today your good to go...I also do it now and then and it does feel good.
Take care and keep going!!
