I grew up on a farm, so physical activity was no stranger to me, but still I was not overly interested in sports or any other kind of exercise. The years went by and I found myself in my 50s,about 100 pounds overweight and really not motivated about life in general. I discovered Spark People in March of 2010 and started making some small, but significant, changes in my lifestyle. I managed to lose 30 pounds but still was not giving forth 100% effort...and physical activity was the factor severely lacking!! I had every excuse in the book, believe me! I had been telling myself I was going to join a gym for months, but finally last Saturday I actually joined. What a difference a week makes! I actually missed 2 days this week, one due to a meeting that lasted way too long and another because I was ill, but those 5 days of exercising have made me feel like a whole new person...I am literally on a high I cannot describe! I feel ALIVE again!!! HOORAY!!!!
