I think that it is great that you made your teacher aware that she was limiting you. When I see someone that is older than me or without the ability to do something, go for their dreams. I think that it is awesome and it makes me aware that I can do the same thing. Luckily I am very healthy, but I have to fight the "I can't" attitude because I have struggled with my weight for so long. This time around it is more of a lifestyle change. The ending of your blog I believe I like the best. People do not realize how special they are. My brother has had cancer twice in his life and now has one leg that is shorter than the other. We all worried about him for the longest time because he was making so many decisions that were hurting him. I finally talked to him and told him until he came to the realization that he was worth it he would never do anything with his life. I honestly don't know if that sunk in however several months later. He informed the family that he had an epathany (I am sure that is spelt wrong). He stopped doing the stuff that he was doing went back to college to finish his chemical engineering degree. He plays for a Jazz band at the college and loving his life. He has the best attitude. We are all so proud of him. He has never told anyone what he realized and we have not asked we are just so happy that he has finally realized that he can do this. I personally blame our system of helping people with disabilities. Most are introduced to the idea of "I can't". Once that is introduced it is hard to fight against it.
