Good to be Back

Lost over 20 pounds last winter, but I have gained back 8. Looking to lose those 8 and another 12 or so more. Should be a "piece of cake" it took only two months to lose 20 pounds last year.

I am a vegetarian. For the majority of my life I was a carnivore. I find that Sparkpeople gives me a good handle on just how many calories I consume, and creating my nutritional plan is the secret to my successful weight loss.

    Day 3 - Life's Good! So is Food.

    8:00pm note: made some adjustments to my nutrition plan for the day as I was very hungry at 4pm and had 1/2 bagel and cheese for a snack. No dessert tonite, unless it's celery sticks!

    Still under 1550 calories for the day with ample protein. YUM!

    My Vegetarian Diet Menu for tomorrow:

    Breakfast: Burrito with egg, green peppers, veggie sausage and cheese

    Lunch: Baked Leeks with Potato Gratin (Vegetarian Times magazine); MacIntosh Apple, sliced

    Dinner: Fried Tempeh with Shallots (Classic Vegetarian Dishes from Around the World cookbook); Roasted Brussel Sprouts in Vinegar and Olive Oil

    Dessert: Dark Chocolate Morsels and Dried Cranberries with Yogurt topping

    I'm 53 years old, happliy married and live in upstate New York. I am self employed jewelry designer and artist.

    I have slowly gained weight over the many years, occasionally dieting and working out for lengths of time. My best weight from my 20's and 30's was125. In my forties I was in the 130-138 lbs range. Now in my fifties I had gone up to an all time high of 156 pounds last winter.

    I joined sparkpeople last December, and I tracked my nutrition until February 2010 and lost 20 pounds. I got down to 136, the weight that I was when I met my husband 7 years ago.

    Although I hadn't yet reached my ideal weight, I decided to rest for a half year or so. But because of my love for food and all fattening things, I have gained back 8 pounds since last spring. Now I am up to 143. I started tracking my nutrition yesterday, and have filled in my nutrition page for tomorrow.

    My goal is to be 125 again, it would be truly amazing! Can I do this in 2 to 3 months? I think so.

    has a menu planned for tomorrow with lots of pastabilicheese - all of my favorite things: Breakfast: 1/2 Common Grounds Big Bagel, Swiss Cheese and Morningstar Farms Bacon, Lunch: Annie's Pasta with more Cheese and Broccoli, Carrot snacks, Dinner: Spagetti with Arugula, Sumdried Tomatoes, Mushrooms,Oilve Oil and Parmesan Cheese, Tossed Salad with Mushrooms, Radishes, Green Pepper and Lite Dressing, 2 thin slices of Bruchetta Pumpernickel (Jimmy's) Bread Slices pan grilled in Olive Oil with Parmesan, Garlic and Oregano, dessert snack of Dark Chocolate Morsels with Dried Cranberries - OMFG - this is a diet? YES, UNDER 1550 CALORIES FOR THE DAY!
