Well. After a 2-week hiatus, I think I'm finally feeling well enough to get back into things. I've spent the last two weeks attempting to recover from a cold followed by a sinus infection that (in combination with the inland hurricane that took over most of this week) made exercise all but impossible and I'm finally starting to feel a little bit more like myself. I haven't been keeping up with calorie tracking, either--worrying about calories on top of everything else seemed like a great way to get burnt out on the whole thing, so I just tried to keep to good habits while focusing on resting as much as possible. Didn't really gain any weight, though, so that's good. I'm a bit disappointed by the delay, but it didn't seem healthy to push weight loss while feeling sicker than I have in years. Sucks when life gets in the way of goals!
Today I started back with strength training, though, at a lower weight level (figures I'd get sick right after upping my weights), and it went well, and I should have time to get back into cardio this weekend, with a clear schedule and lovely weather. The cold & early dark will get in the way of more natural forms of activity, as taking my kid to the park was one easy way to get in at least a little activity every day, so I'll probably focus more on the gym and try to hit another cardio class a week to make up for it.
