I got an awesome birthday present from my boss and now I need advice on what to spend it on. I have $300 to use for anything I want. Obviously I would like some type of fitness accessory. I was thinking a Body Bugg (??)

HELP me with your advice please!!!

Hey! I'm a few days late here but wanted to chime in. I also looked at the Body Bugg. I was a bit concerned about the size and price. I decided to go with a Fit Bit. From what I've researched, it is as close in accuracy as the Body Bugg. It doesn't work like the Body Bugg does. It is based on movement rather than temperature fluxes. It is A LOT smaller. It is a lot less expensive (i.e., only $100). And, the basic use of the website to do your stats is free (I think you have to pay monthly for Body Bugg).

However, I did order mine in July and have yet to receive it. They have a horrible back order. It can take up to 5 months to get it in. As far as I can tell from what I've read, that is the worse minus.

Anyway, I just wanted to put another option out there for you to look into! Have a great day!

How about some sessions with a personal trainer? Or a gym membership close to work? Definitely go for some workout clothes. Not sure about the Body Bugg. Haven't read too much about it. I think I read recently about some sort of HRM that is compatible with the Spark tracker? Or maybe I dreamed that, lol......

    What a nice surprise!

Are you into strength training? If so, have you considered Weider PowerSwitch Pair Adjustable 12.5 lb. Hand Weights? What makes these hand weights good is, you only have 1 set and can switch out plates to make it 3lbs, 5lbs, 8lbs, 10 lbs or 12.5 pounds. I have seen these in Target store for $70 or $80.

Personally, I'd put it towards a nice elliptical for the mornings when I don't want to go to the gym.

I dont know if someone gave me 300.00 to spend on whatever, I think I would buy one of those electronic books, at least check it out, it is something I really would like, and of course, it would be nice to have exercise clothes that were not just old baggy things that I have had for years, it would be a lot of fun, so enjoy spending it. and get what you want.

    hmm, if I didn't already have one, i'd get a Garmin- but then, I'm a runner :)
Since I do already have one...I would get a set of 8lb weights, 2 or 3 running bras (ok I'm down to $200...), some cute sweat-wicking shirts and moji knee things. (They are these awesome ice packs that conform to your knee!)

Personally I wouldn't use a body bugg- I don't like to spend more time at my computer than I have to, and I never found tracking very fun. If you will use it, I think it's a really neat tool! I think there's a subscription for the bodybugg online tools too.

Get the body bugg. I can't tell you what it's done for me in this process... And there's some kind of special running on it until October 31st.

I agree with a PP - NEW fitness clothes!! But, try not to get ripped off...If you go to lululemon you will probably only walk away with 1 outfit...go to Winners and you can get 1 outfit and still have $250!

If you want the Body Bugg...GO FOR IT! Have fun! emoticon

What an awesome present. Definitely you should use it on something to help you achieve your healthy lifestyle goals. Workout clothes would be a great place to start. I'm not sure what the Baby Bug is, but if it is a HRM make sure that it is easy to understand. I recently bought one and I'm having trouble learning how to use it, but I am going to keep trying! Hope you have fun shopping!

That is a great gift. I would say spend it on anything you want. Not like something simple but something that you have been wanting for but you would not buy with your own money, ya know. If that body bugg is what you desire then I say go for it!!!! It is a gift so buy yourself something amazing, you deserve it!!!!!!!! Good Luck on deciding!!!!!!
