Spent 4 hours there today. Got the "you need to lose weight" lecture. Also, he added baby aspirin and a beta blocker, and thinks I should be on a statin and fish oil as opposed to trilipix, but I'm supposed to bring that up to my endocrinologist. They drew blood, did an echo, and a chemical induced stress test/PET scan. He says I have PVC (premature ventricular contractions), which is basically heart palpitations. I will also be wearing a heart monitor for 7 days as soon as UPS drops it off!

So yes, I still need to lose weight. hee hee.

I hate when they lecture about something we already know. DUH! Sorry I didn't realize you were having problems. I'm not a Dr, but when mine wanted to start me on a statin, (awful side effects), I adamantly refused and promised to use diet and exercise, (only good side effects), to bring my numbers down.

Ugh, but at least they're being thorough and taking good care of you sounds like.

When I had my first physical with my new doctor almost three year ago. I got that lecture and the one about stress. I took almost a year to start doing something about both. And now it has been a year since then. Time marches on and little things count. You doctor(s) have many patients which hear the same thing. Since you are a sparker you have the unique opportunity to avail yourself to which many don't. We are here to support your decision to a better you, not your doctor's.
