Maintenance... Fooey!

So I have come a long way! I've lost over 30 lbs and only have 10 more. My muscles are strong and more defined, and I am enjoying life again. Doing things with my teenagers and going on exciting dates (dancing) with my husband (boyfriend). What a wonderful life. But my question is why... Why am I holding on to those last 10 lbs? I realize they are a security blanket... The blanket of what ifs... What if:
I fail
I gain it back
I get there and dont like it
I get to my goal and people expect more for me
I get to my goal and dont have anything new to do (I ve been doing this part for years and it has kept me busy!)
Well FOOEY to you Maintenance! YOU will not scare me anymore! I will overcome this obstacle and get to you and dance the dance of healthy living all over u! emoticon

    Sounds familiar. I wrote a blog "Not wanting to move forward" expressing some of those same concerns. I invite you to read it and some of the responses I received. It was very interesting.
    Bottom line?... when you are ready you'll make it happen.

    The last 10 are always the hardest to lose. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time. Just don't take a step back, but if you to take two steps forward. Slow and steady. Sparkpeople are here for you ... lean on us for help. I wish you the best with those last ten pounds!
