Monday, Oct 25/10 Good News

Another year almost shot. The time is going by so fast. I was to see my cardiologist today. The news is all good, and he doesn't want to see me for another year, unless I feel I have problems before that. My next appointment is Thursday with my cancer doctor, and I am predicting more good news. I have a mammogram coming up in December to check out a lump in my breast.
My doctor prescribed a new pill for me to control the pain in my back. So far it seems to be working, but I haven't done any sewing since starting it. That will be the big test. Seems to be worse when I am using my arms.
We all travelled to Lethbridge, Alberta for the Canadian Thanksgiving on Oct 11th at my daughter's new home. It was a blast as all but one family member was there.
Before I left my daughter's in Kamloops, we dried 3 large boxes of apples. My 8 year old grandson run them through the peeler and slicer. He is a wonderful little boy. He worked so hard just so I wouldn't have to do it. Just laying them out on the trays caused me a lot of back pain. I think it will be the last year for me to do them.
Reed and I put together and decorated a Gingerbread Halloween Haunted house. Every year we have done a Christmas Gingerbread House, but I'm staying home this Christmas, so we did Halloween instead. We didn't get to bake cookies this trip as there was just so much to do and so little time. I had to rush home because I had doctors appointments.
Kim had redecorated my grandson's room, so when I got there I helped finish up with a little trim painting, and then sewed new cushion covers and curtains to match the new color scheme. I have so much fabric on hand for quilt making, but I think my sewing days might well be over. I am thinking of donating it to the Hospital Auxiliary for the ladies to make up for their gift shop or the wards.
I have been stuck at 190 lbs for several weeks now. Those round numbers always seem to be a challenge to get past. I think if I get back to regular exercising it will make a big difference. I got off track travelling and being away from home. But, I have a special friend in Ontario who keeps me on the straight and narrow. We have started meeting every morning over Skype on the computer, and exercising together. She gets on her treadmill, while I pop in my walking tape.
Now it is after midnight again, so I better turn in. I am still de-cluttering and re-arranging the apartment. Kim is coming down with her husband on Nov 8th for a wedding, and are bringing a dinning room hutch for me along with another shelf/drop leaf table unit. In turn she is going to take home some of the scrapbooking storage cubes I have, along with some scrapbooking supplies. I am trying to simplify my life, but it is sure a lot of hard work. Seems that I have been doing this forever.
Thank you all for your support.
Love you, Bunny
