It's a top ten day in New England!!

Saturday, October 23, 2010

It doesn't get much better than today -- temps in the high 50's/low 60's, enough breeze to send the fallen leaves flying, sunshine -- it's a definite "glad to be alive" day.

Darling daughter and I took the granddollies to an alpaca farm (ranch?) on a Walktober walk. (sponsored by The Last Green Valley here in North East Connecticut,This is the link if you are interested in reading about it.

I would guess there were about 40 alpacas of different ages there. The walk was called "The Curious Alpacas" and they would walk right up to you as long as you stood still and didn't move quickly.

This was the newest little guy and was just 6 days old and cute as a bug's ear. The other young alpacas were very curious about the "jacket" that he was wearing because they hadn't seen it before. Because it's getting cooler, they bundled him up in it.

The Dollies had a great time -- GrandDolly #1 loved how soft they were. The alpaca that she is posing with is Susie and loves attention. Her startling threshold was alot higher than most of the others. I don't know who the little boy that #1 is standing with but he surely is adorable.

Sweet Baboo had to work this morning so he wasn't able to come with us. Luckily though, the farm is open most days and just making a phone call to make sure that they will be there is all that is needed for another visit. We'll definitely be going back soon!!
