Why We VOTE!!

Friday, October 22, 2010

T'was the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
tired of political clap-trap

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

'On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi'
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as they flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think
On this one final noteó
IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE !!!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA , OUR ONLY HOPE!

I too hope that everyone votes, regardless what their political beliefs may be.

But President Obama's stimulus program included the largest 1 year tax cut in US history. The auto bailouts have saved millions of American jobs and some of the bailout money has already been repaid with interest and no doubt the cost of doing nothing in lost future revenues would have been much higher than the bailout.

While I did enjoy your poem and found it quite creative it is based on right wing paranoia instead of fact.

Everyone should vote though.

This was clever. The times we are in a quite interesting, we each have to weigh individual needs and social needs. We are doing this not just on the national level but locally too. There propositions in my area that could cause me to go into my wallet to the tune almost $1,000 per year.

I agree we should all vote. I think we should also pray that God will lead the heart and mind of each voter as we prepare to vote on November 2.

You are so right, every one who is eligible should vote.
