Well, back to reality now. Bummer!
I had a wonderful time in Port Townsend. If I can figure out how to post pictures on this, I will do so! The view from our living room was incredible, Discovery Bay and mountains and the sunset. We had a private beach accessible by stairs on the patio, and Sunday morning my friend and I took a very nice stroll. The beach was sandy and covered with shells. I mean, COVERED! I have never seen so many shells in one place! The patio had grills and on Saturday we had grilled chicken caesar salad, and on Sunday we made grilled salmon and zucchini. Mmmm! I didn't lose any weight unfortunately (I sort of pigged out on the healthy food... whoops!) but I got a TON of writing done. I'm over 60k words on my novel now, and made really good progress on the plotlines, answered a lot of questions, took some unexpected turns, figured out some holes. Very productive!
It was a lovely weekend.
Unfortunately, I came back to the sad news that my husband's grandmother is in the hospital for pneumonia and the prognosis isn't good. We went to visit her last night, and now we are just watching and waiting. She is on continuous oxygen via a bipap, and isn't stable off of it. She is 91 and has had an amazing life. My husband is handling it very well, and so is our son. My daughter is two and doesn't really know what is going on. I have some wonderful pictures of Ruth with the kids, and I want to get those blown up and framed so that they will be able to remember her.
