This Year"

That is what the
cover story
enticing me
in line at
the grocery counter
read in Bold Print.

I added the January 2010
copy of "O" magagine
to my cornicopia
of iteams
rushing past me
to the checker
who beamed,
"I love Oprah".

I never ceases
to amaze me
how many
people love
persons they've
never met
but loathe
family members
and even

Including me.

Dear Diary.

I feel as though
2011 is speeding
toward me
like a cannonball
launched from
an ancient cannon -
full of elements
of destruction.

I must turn the corner
I must turn the page.

I feel like I have run
out of time to make
this year a success
rather than just a
another year in
a long list of years
of failure.

I look back at where I was
when I read this article
and where I am now
and wonder am I
a better woman now
than the woman I was

I've made some mistakes
and miss steps along
my way but my answer
is a resounding yes!

Yes. I am.

For I have learned Unconditional Love.
