Merry Sunday, 10/17

Sunday, October 17, 2010

It's been a wonderful day. I am happy, grateful and TIRED. I'm going to bed as soon as I am finished with this blog.

We got up pretty early, had breakfast & headed to the portrait studio. We were there by 10:30am and had a good time getting our pictures taken. It's more money than I usually have to spend but we have 6 weeks to pay them off & they are the Christmas gifts for both Jon & Sarah as well as Michael & Becca. We also get our sets of pictures too so that's our Christmas presents to ourselves as well. That will just leave the grandchildren to buy for and we already know what we're going to do for them. Practical but special. They all need bed sets. I'm going to crochet afghans for them as well.

Most of the day I spent crocheting, relaxing and sparking. On and off on all of them. I finished the afghan that I was working on for my friend in OR. I am going to try to get it in the mail tomorrow. PHEW, that's a load off.

Time for bed. I hope that you're all doing well. Make this a FUN & FIT week! It's better than half-way through October and we ALL want to see the scale make a happy number for us on Nov 1st.

Bright blessings to you all. Love, Dawn emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

What a special gift to be giving. I hope that when you get them you will share. I think making gifts for people is one of the nicest things to give. I am finishing a blanket I knitted for one of my aunts. I have knitted all the senior relatives blankets except the youngest uncle and his wife they are my next major project. It is fun finding the yarn and while working on it thinking about that person. Right now except for one uncle all my family has blankets I have made for them keeps them nice and warm.
You are so special for doing this.
Hugs and smiles
Deb

I think it is unanimous . . .we all want to see the pics! Glad your day was relaxing . . .you deserve it. I'm sure the grandchildren will love their present. My sister made each of the nieces and nephews a quilt when they were young and they still fondly refer to it as their "Aunt Elaine Blanket" and still have them . . . my children are 28 and 25 now!

I'm also waiting to see the pics of you and your beautiful family!

The bed set gift brings back memories of when I was a little girl and got a new twin bed for Christmas. My parents had me spend the night at my big sister's house on Christmas Eve and when I opened up my gifts, one of them was a doll house bed with a note, telling me that the real one was waiting for me in my bedroom. My big sister had put a fancy bed spread on it and I really felt like a princess. I hope your grandkids like their beds as much as I liked mine. Maybe they'll be sharing the same memories with their friends when they grow up.

Glad you had a great day. My mom used to make afghans too, and made some for my kids and some baby blankets for the grandbabies. Homemade gifts are so special. Truly a lot of love devoted to them!
Have a wonderful day and keep passing on those smiles! emoticon
