Now that my orientation is well underway, and all of our new temps are watching a video, I can calm down…nothing like being told the day before that you’re going to be doing new employee orientation for about 15 people the next morning when its not something that you normally do. My boss is usually the one who handles that, but she’s off site today, so luckily I don’t have that much of a fear of speaking in front of people, but I had to get the quick cliff-notes version on what I was supposed to do for the 45 minute presentation. Which, surprisingly went pretty much without a hitch, except for the part where the computer didn’t want to play my dvd, lol….
On to more exciting news….I cannot believe that the half marathon I originally started training for is coming up this weekend! I did jump the gun and did a half marathon a few days after my birthday (about 6 weeks ago) but I’m stoked about this one! It’s the Nike women’s half, and I’m doing it with the people that I have been running with for the past 20 weeks, who are all part of team in training. Tuesday we all got together and decorated our TNT race shirts with all kinds of bling!
Now I’m just starting to get my pre-race jitters :) there’s just a lot to get ready….we’re spending the night before and after in the city, which will be fun. That way I don’t have to get all stressed out about time the morning of the race, but that means I’ve gotta bring more stuff. We’ve got an inspiration dinner the night before, and then a celebration party in the evening after the race, it’s going to be super fun, I can’t wait. Plus my best friend is walking it, so we get to experience it all together! I just got my final confirmation email for the race and it had like 20 things I needed to print, I’m just hoping that I remember to bring all of my confirmations (hotel, parking, race reg, etc) along with my tickets for the dinner, party and shuttle, too much to remember!
I’m still looking for playlist suggestions, anyone got some good songs? I’m going to be making my race playlist tomorrow nite, and I’d love to include some songs that help pump you guys up!
