Looking forward to an exciting weekend + playlist suggestions?

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Now that my orientation is well underway, and all of our new temps are watching a video, I can calm downÖnothing like being told the day before that youíre going to be doing new employee orientation for about 15 people the next morning when its not something that you normally do. My boss is usually the one who handles that, but sheís off site today, so luckily I donít have that much of a fear of speaking in front of people, but I had to get the quick cliff-notes version on what I was supposed to do for the 45 minute presentation. Which, surprisingly went pretty much without a hitch, except for the part where the computer didnít want to play my dvd, lolÖ.

On to more exciting newsÖ.I cannot believe that the half marathon I originally started training for is coming up this weekend! I did jump the gun and did a half marathon a few days after my birthday (about 6 weeks ago) but Iím stoked about this one! Itís the Nike womenís half, and Iím doing it with the people that I have been running with for the past 20 weeks, who are all part of team in training. Tuesday we all got together and decorated our TNT race shirts with all kinds of bling!

Now Iím just starting to get my pre-race jitters :) thereís just a lot to get readyÖ.weíre spending the night before and after in the city, which will be fun. That way I donít have to get all stressed out about time the morning of the race, but that means Iíve gotta bring more stuff. Weíve got an inspiration dinner the night before, and then a celebration party in the evening after the race, itís going to be super fun, I canít wait. Plus my best friend is walking it, so we get to experience it all together! I just got my final confirmation email for the race and it had like 20 things I needed to print, Iím just hoping that I remember to bring all of my confirmations (hotel, parking, race reg, etc) along with my tickets for the dinner, party and shuttle, too much to remember!

Iím still looking for playlist suggestions, anyone got some good songs? Iím going to be making my race playlist tomorrow nite, and Iíd love to include some songs that help pump you guys up!

This is so late but Bjork: Army of Me is one of my favorite songs to hear when I am working out.

I hope everything went well!
