Got me thinking

Thursday, October 14, 2010

So here goes yesterday I went for my weekly therapy session. Mirah (therapist) mentioned one of my goals which is weight loss. She said how are you doing on that I said i'm in a lazy place right now regarding diet and exercise. So she brought up a good point she said when you get sick what do you do? I said I take OTC medicine and if I don't feel better after a few days I go to the doctor. Well she said that you take all the right steps to get better when you are sick. So ask yourself why you don't have the same approach when it comes to weight loss? That is a very good question she asked and I wish I had the answer!!! I know that I need to lose the weight since my cholesterol is still high but yet I play this game all the time. I have all the foods, gym membership, dvds etc. I wonder why I do this to myself when I know its only hurting me in the end??? Thanks for reading......

Try just taking it one day at a time. I had a couple of months where I really didn't do much exercise at all, and wasn't tracking calories. To get back in the groove, I told myself I would track my calories (not try to stay in a particular range, just track everything) and exercise for 10 minutes a day. Well, when you start tracking calories, you start paying attention and eat better & when you are already exercising for 10 minutes, it is easy to keep going for 15, 20 or 30.

It really helped me get focused again.

I think that's enough unsolicited advice from me - LOL emoticon

I am a leader of a challenge called WIN - (winter is near) and we have room for a couple more girls. I see that you are on the Done Girls team. This is through them. We are 3 weeks into the challenge but you could always just right in there. Challenges always make me do better. Our Team is called the Cute & Shady Sweeties. If you are interested just let me know and I'll send you an invite. We do weekly challenges, weigh ins ,etc... And they are a great group of gals!
