A week ago I told you about our friend Gary who had pancreatic cancer, and the benefit his fellow firefighters gave him. He made it through the week for their 40th wedding anniversary, and yesterday he laid down for a nap and didn't get up again. We spent the morning with his wife and son. No one knew it was going to happen so soon, and maybe that's for the best. But now his pain and suffering are over. He will be terribly missed. Now my concern is for his family. If any of you who read this would say a prayer for them, it would mean alot to me.

I am sorry to hear about your friend Gary. Sometimes things work in strange ways, he was able to see all of his friends at the benefit and also was able to celebrate the anniversary. It seems also at times, that is family really never had to see those final days and was able to be with him while he was able to part of it.
I just posted that my neighbor was transferred to hospice tonight and I was shocked at hearing the news.
So for you and his family my thoughts go out to you and his family.
