New Exercise: Carrying Beans To Work

Not that I did this intentionally, but I created a new workout for myself today. For various reasons, I had left my backpack at work on Friday. Today I wanted to bring in some of the delicious Lentil soup I had made yesterday. After scooping out 2 Ĺ cups of soup, I started thinking, ďhow am I going to get this to work without spilling it?Ē Even though I had a lid for it, I didnít want to drip any of the precious calories, which Iíve already accounted for, out. So as Iím walking to work, one hand was pumping away, the other hand was carefully balancing the soup. Iíd switch hands from time-to-time to balance things out. And guess what? I actually made it to work in record time! Today was the fastest Iíve ever walked here. Go figure.

Technically speaking, Iím not even supposed to be at work today. After all, it is a holiday. But, due to events on Friday and probably tomorrow, Iím going to miss a significant amount of productivity time, so I volunteered to come in today to balance things out. It is a lot easier that way; especially compared to the days I would come early, come late.

On a separate note, the weather here has been awesome. The family went for a nice walk in the woods yesterday. Who knows, maybe Iíll post pictures tomorrow. Today, I walked to work and plan on walking home. Maybe even taking the kids to the park for a bit. I also spent some time digging up a section of the yard yesterday; getting it ready for the garden next year. Everything just seems so much nicer. For one, because it is cooler and less humid. For two, because Iíve lost this weight, been eating right, and getting more sleep; I now have more energy.

    How however you can get it in..GET IT IN...LOL. I don't make soup so I would have to carry a can of soup...I like Chunky Soups...those cans are pretty heavy... emoticon

    Awesome way to get in some exercise! Sounds like you had a pretty great weekend, I love the autumn you get such great weather for getting things done... We're supposed to be in spring here but all we're getting is rain, it's pretty great though since our dams were below 6% with all the rain we have drinking water again!

    see.. If I did that... people would think I'm strange.. so you got to work faster then usual.. but did you spill any of the soup? emoticon
