OK, my weight is going down slowly but it's going down so i'm happy with that.
Something is working right anyway. Before I had my RNY, I could not get the scales to budge. I knew I needed help but could not get my doctors to understand that. I actually went in to see my PCP once because I felt like I had low thyroid since I was postmenopausel and cold all the time (NOT normal for me). I would diet and could not lose the weight no matter what. I was so frustrated by it all.
When I finally went for testing 6 mos later, behold, I had low thyroid. I was so angry at my doctors for not testing me when I had legitimate reasons to believe things and because I have a nursing background and know my own body more than anyone else.
I decided to get help for myself so I could better my standard of living and opted for the RNY surgery. I've had some complications like acid and ulcers but the surgery in all is a success. I'm losing weight and would never have been able to do it without this tool.
My goals are to increase my exercise and get more water aerobics in and add zumba classes. Who says that exercise has to be boring. If it's boring, i won't do it at all. I know me.
So, congrats to all the other new weight loss surgery individuals out there and good luck on your journey. We are all different yet all have a common thread.
