My Holiday Wish for ME!

Sunday, October 10, 2010

My holiday wish for me is to be a stronger healthier person by my 41st birthday (January 8). As a means to that end I have decided to give myself a little challenge. I am going to walk a 5K on Thanksgiving morning. I have been walking pretty consistently for a couple of weeks now and I am sure that in the seven weeks that I have left to train, 5K should not be a problem (who knows maybe by then I will even be jogging a little bit!!)

So here is the plan:

To walk through the woods,

on Thanksgiving morning,

and to cross the finish line of my first (adult) 5K!

YOU GO GIRL! I walked a 5K a week and a half ago. I didn't go very fast, but I went 3.4 miles, so even farther than a 5K! I felt such a sense of accomplishment. Now I need to do it again! And again! and again! Can't quit now!

Hey, My birthday is January 10th, and I'll be 42.
I am running my first 5k in 2 weeks. I will not have graduated the Couch to 5k program yet, but I am going to do the best I can.
Can't wait to hear about your 5k!

We have a turkey trot in our area every Thanksgiving morning. The proceeds benefit the local childrens' hospital. Maybe you could scope one out in your area and you will have people with whom you can trot and possibly do it for charity.
You can do it emoticon

You should be able to hit 5k by Thanksgiving with no problem at all! And we expect a 10k on your birthday emoticon
