Too Much

I just got home from my niece's eleventh birthday party. I ate too much and I feel yucky. I suppose that is a good thing because hopefully I'll remember feeling yucky the next time I'm near a chip bowl or presented with chocolate cake and ice cream. I also ate a cheesy entree with friends last night at a Mexican restaurant. So it isn't just today that I ate too much. I'm sure last nights meal could have lasted 3 days if I was paying attention to portion size yesterday.

So, It's time to recommit to healthy eating!
I need to watch my portion size.
I need to add more fruits and veggies again.
I need to stay away from sugary treats. (If I really want something a square or two of good dark chocolate does the trick without sending my way over on calories)
And, I need to avoid getting too hungry so I can maintain control around tempting, but unhealthy foods.

I can do this. I know I can because I did it this summer. I just have to figure out how to do this with a really busy schedule, which I didn't have during the summer.

    These things happen to us when we go out or have social engagements. it's really hard, I have the same problem. but at least you know you want to get back on track, and have a plan. good luck.

    We all get off track sometimes. Get back to portion control, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, drinking water, lots of fiber. We all know what it takes. Doing it consistently is the challenge.

    I was at a birthday party last night. My own. Today is my real birthday.

I exercised before I went to the party. I only had one piece of carrot cake (my favorite) and I didn't bring the cake home but i should've removed half of the frosting. I ate two servings of the Puerto Rican food my friend cooked. I should've had one serving. I did eat a salad with lots of vegetables that I made so that was good. My friend puts, what I think, is a lot of sodium in her food. So, today I feel bloated. I shouldn't have gotten on the scale but I did. I'll weigh-in in 3 days and if I'm still up I'll have to move my tracker.

I wish I weighed 145!!! It's getting closer. You are doing great!

I agree with everything you posted in your blog. The "I need to..." Those are things I need to do, too. We will do those things especially with the holidays approaching. We will make this a holiday season where we lose weight!!!!

    Try to remember what worked for you this summer and then modify it so you can make it work with your busy life now. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Be nice to yourself by putting yourself on the to-do list. :)
