Familiar patters have come to my attention today. Though I can't say this will speak for anyone else, but it does speak to me. And I am glad I am listening because it is inspiring.
What I noticed is that for me and weightloss I seem to have this pattern of hit it hard two weeks then rest two then hit it hard again. At first I use to get kind of down on myself for not being perfect in all areas. As I disected this a bit further what I found was I tend to be really focused on my diet during one of these two week periods and on my exercise the other. When I am focused on the exercise I am building muscle and weightloss is at a standstill. Then two weeks of focus on diet and thing fall off all over.
During the time I am focused on my exercise I tend to snack more and at first I was really beating myself up about it. Then I thought about my progress and the fact I was eating healthy snacks and realized my body needed them as I am building muscle.
Then going into my focus on diet and less exercise that new muscle really helps along with the diet in melting those pounds.
Before I was always feeling like I was failing myself for not sticking to both 100% of the time. But turning that negative voice off, I can hear loud and clear, "Honey, you are making progress!" Stick to what IS working for you and build on it!
My message here is be kind to yourself and celebrate everything you are doing for your health. It all adds up, and your body responds to that love!
