So I have been encouraged by one of my sparkteams leader to write a blog about my journey on Sparks. I know that I am not a big writer and usually don't do it often but I took on the challenge to write what I am doing on Sparks.
First off, I have not reached my weight goal and there are many things that I still need to work on in my goals. But one thing that I have found is that I have tried to be consistent on my exercise and getting cardio as well as strength training in 5-6 days a week. I have had my interruptions such as vacations or house guests but I have always missed the time that I am not doing something and staying active.
My last child just headed off to college this fall and so my husband and I have tried to really focus on eating healthier and staying active. My husband travels often but when he is home we go everyday for at least a 3 mile walk around our neighborhood. We have done this even when it has turned off cooler, we just put on a jacket and continue on. We have in the past when our children were younger walked every day no matter the weather...so we are going to continue doing so unless our safety is in danger.
As I stated above we are trying to eat healthier and I am getting so much better at not having snacks in the house which I did often with a growing teen-ager in the house. Although I must admit that I do occassionally still crave and will buy a small quantity of dark chocolate.
I also love trying new recipes that I find on Sparks....I know that I can attain a better eating habit and a better life for myself I just have to do it as well as I do my exercising.
In March I am going on a family trip to Disney World.....I would love to lose more weight but more importantly be able to buy smaller size clothing!!!!
SparksPeople has been such a great find in my life and I need to really use it. Maybe this blog writing will help me stay focused on my lifelong journey of a healthy lifestyle!
