Day 1 in Arizona

Thursday, October 07, 2010

With an uneventful flight from Pittsburgh to Phoenix and a surprising lack of an phone calls from work, today was off to a good start.

Me, my wife, her twin sister, and two couples who made the trip with us then went for a hike up Squaw Peak. Very rocky but a great time. Twin turned back before the top but day was still rolling along. Then we descended to parking lot where twin announced that she had fallen, broken a finger and had a very swollen ankle. Then got a call that mother-in-law had fallen and couldn't get up and 911 was called. And a voicemail from a client that he had a crisis which needed addressed ASAP.

MIL is probably going to be okay, Can't help client from 3 time zones away, and place in Jerome looks fabulous. So I'm going to put a smile on my face.

And have a couple beers and a burger at the Haunted Hamburger.

I feel ready for the Canyon!

Enjoy your time and say "Hi" to the wife, Ken and his wife for me.

We'll be thinking of you all as we run our hilly 5K Saturday.
