The other woman stranded with me suggested we get to the seaplane early - so right after bkfst we got a taxi over. We only waited 2 hours before the weather cleared sufficiently - but this was still 1.5 hrs earlier than our scheduled flight. We made it across the sea, but then circled the harbor in St. Thomas for 30 minutes before the weather cleared enough for us to land. (Mind you, this is a 20 minute flight normally.)
Somehow our luggage never was put on the plane, despite the fact that there were only 5 passengers. I'm guessing because our luggage was labelled for the noon flight. However, the weather deteriorated rapidly, and no other flights made it across - I just called and our bags and locked up in St. Croix, and hopefully will come over in the morning.
So I'm home, I'm dry, the wind is howling, the rain is pouring down, and we're snug in the house. As long as the power stays on, we should be okay.
What a week! School was closed today again, and might even be closed tomorrow as well - roads are still washing out, there's major flooding, and when DH and I went home we had to go a roundabout route due to closed roads.
Otto is making a mess of the VI!
