I've heard that drinking an extra cup of water for every 25 lbs your over [in addition to the 8 cups] will help with lose skin. Personally, the older you get the more important this information is...
I guess for me that would only be 13 8 oz cups of water ... subtract your goal weight from what you weigh, then divide the remainder by 25 ... it's really not that much more.
I thought that drinking more water was better but found out the hard way that too much water can be dangerous. I decided that every time I got up from my desk I would drink some water. I figured in one day I had consumed over 2 gallons of water! The day after I was feeling shaky, jittery - like I had consumed straight caffeine. I found out that I had inadvertantly flushed all the potasium (and other important nutrients) from my body. I now keep my consumption to no more than 10 cups a day. Your body does get used to all the extra water so you don't have to be in the bathroom all the time, too.
